Let’s Go Outside

It hit 70* here in Reno this Easter weekend and it was glorious!  I spent Saturday raking and cleaning my yard. It’s looking better but I’m paying for it today. This a good reminder to pace myself when doing heavy chores.

We have had an unusually wet winter. I’m told that this could lead to a strong critter problem as we thaw out.  My yard has a lot of trees and therefore, a lot of leaves. I needed to clean out the areas near my house of anything I missed in the fall because box elder bugs love my house.  I don’t want to kill things, but my house looked like a Stephen King novel cover last spring. I’d advise anyone to do the same.

Last year when it got out of control, I called Lee & Trudy Lawrence of ZeeBest Pest to help me. I’ve worked with them for years and they have helped me through several real estate/pest issues I’ve come across. I highly recommend them.

The winds blew many limbs out of trees in my yard and several tenants’ yards as well. I suggest everyone take a look at your roofs and check for downed limbs and shingle issues. Roofers and arborists are going to get super busy and if you need something addressed, you want to get on the list asap.

The next things on my list are aeration of my lawn and some weed killer/fertilizer.  I’d love any suggestions for lawn aeration. My lawn is small therefore I take care of it myself. It’s my favorite exercise. But I can’t aerate it myself.  If there is a company you can recommend please email/call me anytime.

It won’t be long before I pull out the patio furniture and Mag’s little pool. Then eventually the evaporative cooler. I can’t wait!

Did you know there are still some assumable loans out there? Where there is a will, there’s a way to buy a home. Have a wonderful week.
