Good Stuff: Nevada State Parks Library Park Pass
This morning I jumped on Facebook to promote our 3rd Buyers' Brunch and came across a post from the Washoe County Library . They are promoting a passport to state parks. You can gain free entrance to one of the many state parks we have here in Nevada! What a great way to start the New Year.
Having grown up in Reno/Sparks, I’ve had the advantage of visiting Sand Harbor at Lake Tahoe and the vast, virtually empty shores of Pyramid Lake while growing up. It caused me to grow roots here and feel at home in the high desert surrounded by the Sierra Nevada mountains.
Now I get to explore farther reaches of the state. I've been to The Berlin-Ichthyosaur State Park in Austin. This is a must-see! Berlin is a ghost town. It’s got the homes in which the miners lived and the equipment left over from the refinery. It is fascinating and daunting to see how our predecessors lived.
Last April, I visited the Valley of Fire State Park outside Las Vegas. I’d never been before and it was amazing. The more I travel around this great state, the more I appreciate all it has to offer.
If you’re thinking about growing roots of your own here, please call me or join me for the 3rd Buyers' Brunch on February 5th at 1 p.m. Link added. Nevada is a great place to live. It is possible!
