Spanish Springs Neighborhoods

Did you know the Reno International Air Races began at Sky Ranch Airport? It’s no surprise as there is so much open space North of Sparks. Growing up, I spent so many summer days swimming in Pyramid Lake. I’ve driven SR445 from Sparks to Pyramid lake hundreds of times. It has grown and spread into a variety of lovely neighborhoods including Spanish Springs, Wingfield Springs, Calle De La Plata, and Sky Ranch.

These neighborhoods are spread across the valley. Homes are generally single-family detached although there are townhouses scattered throughout. Prices range from $400k’s in Sky Ranch to $ 1 million dollars for homes in Wingfield Springs.

There are many schools in the area. The main public high school is Spanish Springs High School Approximately 2500 students attend and the graduation rate is 91%. They list 14 science labs, 5 computer labs, a state-of-the-art C3 Media program, and a sports medicine program among their assets.

Shopping is abundant at the Galleria Mall. Everything you need is here; Home Depot, Walmart, Kohl's, and so much more. Plus a ton of restaurants. Mr. Crab Boiling Seafood, Tha Joint Sushi and so many more. This shopping center caters to all the Spanish Springs neighborhoods and is centrally located.

At 6600 North Wingfield Parkway, you will find Red Hawk Golf & Resort. It’s a beautiful place that hosts weddings and other events. I’ve had the pleasure of dining here a few times, which was terrific. It also boasts its swim and fitness club.

If you’ve never been, you must visit the beautiful Pyramid Lake . It’s on the Paiute Reservation about 30 miles from Sparks and not expensive to camp or boat. Fishermen love it! You can find people fishing here every day, no matter the weather, you will see the die-hards out in the water.

The water is brackish (salty) and therefore not much vegetation grows near it. It makes for a stark almost ethereal landscape. It’s delightful to swim in during summer, but the best time to see the lake is in the winter. The lake's color can be grey and blue or green. Contrasted against the pale sand, it is an unforgettable sight.

The Spanish Springs neighborhoods have a lot to offer. Compared to older Sparks, it feels very roomy and spread out. The home prices run from the upper middle to high. If you don’t own your home, call me. Everyone should have a place of their own where they make the rules. Even if you think you cannot qualify to buy, call me. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Whether you're drawn to the wide-open spaces, the easy access to stunning Pyramid Lake, or the family-friendly atmosphere, Spanish Springs could be your perfect fit.
