Coming Soon to Reno/Sparks

Warmer weather means roadwork. And after the winter we’ve experienced, there will probably be a lot of it. There are some major road improvements happening now and also, coming soon.

The Oddie-Wells project is entering phase 2. This will affect a 3.2-mile-long stretch from Rock Blvd to El Rancho. Oddie Blvd will be closed from April 17-28. This work will add multi-modal improvements including bike facilities and ADA access ramps as well as lighting and landscaping.

Also in Sparks, Pyramid Way will be seeing some changes. Starting in May, a 1.5-mile stretch will be widened from Queen Way to Los Altos. Luckily there are other ways to enter North-East Sparks but please be aware of possible delays.

Do you remember Rosewood Golf Course? It was concluded a few years back to make way for the Veterans Parkway artery. Well, it is now The Rosewood Nature Study Area. I have not walked it yet but I hear it’s beautiful. The Pembroke Visitors Center is located at 6800  Pembroke. You can access parking here and pick up a printed guide to various local birds and wildlife.  Along your walk, you may see a great egret, coot, redwing blackbirds, quail, and various ducks.

I have been waiting on this one for a while. We are getting a Panera restaurant! It will be located at 6407 S. Virginia St and hopefully open for business this summer. If you haven’t eaten at Panera, do yourself a favor and check it out.  I’ll be there.

And last but certainly not least…a warm welcome home to Jeremy Renner. This two-time Oscar-nominated actor is making an incredible recovery from a near-fatal accident this past record-breaking winter. I’m a big fan from way back beginning when I saw his performance in The Hurt Locker and I am so grateful he is doing so well.

Northern Nevada just keeps getting better. If you don’t own any real estate, please think about what you're missing. Invest in yourself and your future.

See you at Rosewood or maybe Panera! Have a great weekend.
