Allergies & Coffee Cake
Does anyone else feel a little out of it? This Mother’s Day weekend was gorgeous. I spent Saturday trimming trees and doing yard work. Saturday evening was spent trying to breathe through all the spring allergens I inhaled through all the outdoor time. Sunday was spent with family. I cooked a nice brunch with a delicious coffee cake. So naturally I had coffee cake for dinner.
Rent Increases
On top of that, it is the time of year when many landlords institute rent increases. I’ve recently had friends reach out to me about rent increases or have been asked to move because the owners have other plans for the home in which they live. It can be very stressful.

March, Finally!
My favorite part of my job is helping someone buy their first home. It’s scary and exciting. It’s also sound financially. Owning a home provides you with shelter and security and earns equity. Keeping money in the bank depending on interest will not even keep up with inflation. Financial health needs to go beyond just stashing money aside for the future.
Good Stuff: Nevada State Parks Library Park Pass
Having grown up in Reno/Sparks, I’ve had the advantage of visiting Sand Harbor at Lake Tahoe and the vast virtually empty shores of Pyramid Lake growing up. It caused me to grow roots here and feel at home in the high desert surrounded by the Sierra Nevada mountains.
